Job Description

Ref: JB-13980RoleSenior Multi-utility Designer(Electricity, Water, Gas)Location:Northampton or Slough with travel and Hybrid workingSalary: £50k60K plus benefitsSummary:A major independent utilities infrastructure installer is looking for a Multi-utilities Designeraccountable for coordinating and managing a portfolio of multi-utility designs from input of quotation through to handover to the operations team. You will work closely with clients throughout the process, as well as with internal stakeholders throughout the tender, design, and deliveryprocess. If you have experience of working on projects in construction or the utility industries with a solid understanding of network design standardsand regulation for one or more for Electricity, Water or Gas. Apply today.Key responsibilities:

  • Review/comment upon electrical designs produced by design team to ensure high quality, prior to their submission to adopting bodies.
  • Manage any design changes and associated financial variations pre- and post-handover to Operations.
  • Coordinate and manage a portfolio of multi-utility designs from input of quotation design to issue of construction file to the Operations Team.
  • Produce technically competent, compliant, and cost-effective multi-utility designs.
  • Liaise withother teams throughout the tender, design, and delivery processes.
  • Coordinate and manage the sign and return of all bi/tri partite agreements
  • Construct workable plans and clearly specify the necessary materials and resources required
  • Liaise with 3rsdparty asset owners to obtain formal design approvals or connection offers
Skills & experience required:
  • Experience of producing outline designs and financial estimates for multi-utility new connections projectsminimum of 2 utility disciplines required
  • Detailed knowledge of industry network design standards and regulatory aspects.
  • Experience of working on portfolio projects in construction or utility industries.
  • Ideally design software packages (AutoCAD, WinDEBUT, Amtech Protect)
  • Experienced in design work on electrical voltages, gas services and water services.
  • Experience of liaising directly with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • S/NVQ Level 3 in Network Mains Design/CABWILevel 3Diploma - Designing Water Networks.
  • City & Guilds 5831-80 qualification in Gas Network Design
  • Qualification in technical drawing & Certificated in Health and Safety Awareness
