Job Description

Role: OSS EngineerContract: 6 month and possibility of extensionLocation: Slough and Currently homebased for few monthsResponsibilities:

  • Interpretation and management of Networks Element Management team project deliveries with full end to end responsibility for implementation, evaluation and improvement plans.
  • Working against agreed KPIs.
  • Maintain an advanced level of knowledge on defined Networks Element Management systems and associated business processes to ensure the best customer solution.
  • Provide visibility of delivery plans and results to both internal and external business partners.

  • Network Element awareness related to vendor products mentioned above.
  • Unix Administration (Solaris part 1 & 2, HP UX and Linux)
  • Ericsson OSS-RC / ENM system administration
  • Ericsson SO.EM system administration
  • Huawei U2000 system administration
  • Ciena system administration
  • SIAE NMS5 system administration
  • Nokia NetAct awareness
  • Nokia SAM (IUB) awareness
  • Junos Space awareness
  • Effective people management skills and ability to motivate and drive performance.
  • Change, Incident and Problem Management awareness.
  • Effective self-management skills.
  • Good communications skills.
  • Strong planning, organisation and prioritisation skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work extended and unsociable hours, travel between key O2 Sites.
    • Desirable IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation Certificate.
