Job Description

Mechanical Fitter - Construction EquipmentSlough26k + Usual PerksKey responsibilities:

  • Servicing, maintaining and repairing light and medium machinery and equipment (plant) used on construction sites such as - Generators, compressors and concrete mixers, Compacting machines, (road rollers/plates), Powered hand tools - disc cutters, Demolition and road equipment
  • Working on engines, transmission systems, hydraulics, electrics and electronics, pneumatics, and parts of plant chassis/frames, such as tracks, wheels and booms
  • Carrying out servicing and routine inspections within the workshop, on site or at customer premises
  • Carrying out safety inspections and checks, keeping comprehensive records of the work
  • Identifying machine faults, repairing or replacing as required
  • Testing and reassembling machines to ensure they work safely and correctly
  • Using electronic equipment to check, repair and test machinery.
  • The Ideal CandidateWhat you can do is important, yet who you are and how you do your work is equally important to us.That said, we would like you to:
  • Have a high level of mechanical, diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
  • Have the ability to work quickly and effectively to minimise delays on site.
  • Have the ability to work independently, and make decisions, without direct supervision
  • Have experience complying with current Health & Safety legislation.
  • Have strong communication and relationship development skills
  • As machinery is constantly updated, redesigned and improved, candidates will need to demonstrate that they keep up-to-date with NVQ/SVQ in Plant Mechanics/ Plant Maintenance or similar.To be considered for this role you must hold a Full UK driving licence. Required skills
