Finance DirectorSlough£80k - £90k + BenefitsAn experienced Finance Director is required to join an Automotive business based in Slough. You will be working closely with the MD and be instrumental in moving the business forward and ensuring the growth of the Organisation, defining business strategythrough financial insight and planning ensuring all financial reporting is up to date.Finance Director responsibilities Lead the accounting function with compliance and control improving accuracy and delivering efficiencies. Collaborate to the strategic and operational development of the business by providing insights, advice, and guidance on business strategy and financial analysis. Direct and control the finance team to ensure that they remain motivated and that development, performance and succession plans are in place. Ensure compliance of company financial systems, reporting and procedures. Implement new systems and controls as necessary. Co-ordinate management accounts for each business function and consolidate within Monthly Management Accounts Oversee the preparation of Monthly Management Accounts to ensure that these are presented accurately and on-time. Report findings on financial opportunities and risks to the Board. Oversee the year end process, leading the audit and liaising with external auditors. Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, P&L, Cashflow, Provisions, Expenses, Stock/Inventory Accounting, Fixed assets, Revenue Recognition, Payroll and Funding. Maintain quality control over all financial transactions ensuring accuracy and compliance with statutory legislation and group policies. Attend Monthly Board meetings with Managing Director to report on the profitability, variance analysis and financial position of the company. Collaborate with Group Finance function to improve financial and non-financial Group controls and planning. Review, develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls. Develop and maintain all necessary systems, reporting, policies, and procedures to ensure effective and efficient financial management within the Group. Lead and coordinate the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances across the business in line with Group deadlines. Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and variance analysis. Control Group Capex in line with Budget and identify additional Group cost-saving opportunities. Control Headcount in-line with Budget and Forecasts through collaboration with Head of HR. Prepare and submit Group information for Manufacturer Composite reports and other stakeholder reporting as required. Prepare and present Group Management Group analysis of Budget variances and opportunities in order to exceed annual targets. Collaborate with Group Finance team on Group initiatives and best practices.Skills and Qualifications for Finance Director Recognised professional accountancy qualification (ACCA/CIMA or similar). At least five years experience in a senior role within a large business. Excellent understanding of accounting processes and the need for appropriate controls. Strong attention to detail. Proven ability to deliver high quality work within strict time frames. Proven ability to prepare monthly management accounts. Knowledge and experience of accounting systems. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Flexible in adapting to varied workloads. Professional conduct & attitude. Ability to work on own initiative. Willingness to take on new tasks and challenges.
