Opportunity to be part of an onsite maintenance team at Heathrow Airport.Our client is responsible for over 7000 items of plant on Heathrow, mostly rotating machinery, valves and pipework. The client is a well backed joint venture that covers complex maintenance projects on siteWorking hours: Full time, 40 hours per week.Normal working hours are Monday to Friday Days. There will be a requirement to work night shifts on maintenance projects and engineering, this will be paid as overtime.Salary: £51,467+ Annual Bonus + Overtime + 8% Pension + Annual Salary ReviewThe role is hands on and ideally requires good practical understanding of tank farms, valves, rotating machinery and associated pipework. It involves working in a team of seven (comprised of electrical & mechanical engineers and a Permit to work engineer).You will be working in a small team and must have an aptitude for dealing with electrical works, breakdowns, repairs and fault diagnosis.Key Aspects of the roleBe able to follow Method Statements and Risk Assessments (RAMs), hold tool box talks, execute work in a safe manner and be able to stop the work for safety if required. To lead electrical repairs and inspections to the plant and the installation of new equipment. Support the safe and smooth uninterrupted operation of the tank farms & hydrant (pipework) system;Support the maintenance team with technical guidance to effectively to deliver the maintenance tasks of the company.Execute Planned Preventative Maintenance system. (Weekly, Monthly, Six monthly and Annual inspections)Help define competency profiles for members of the maintenance team and provide / organise provision of competency assessment and development programmes as appropriate.Support the supervisor team with planning, organisation and report writing skills to improve the effectiveness of the supervisor team.Lead small works on the plant, modifications or changes in equipment.Skills, Experience, Knowledge and QualificationsEssentialCompEx trained and certified in modules EX01 - EX04 (Gases and Vapours).Certified to BS7671 18th edition electrical standard (or have 16th & 17th edition electrical standard and be willing to achieve the 18th edition). Experience in switch gear, instrumentation, and valve actuators. Excellent in fault diagnostics, breakdowns, and electrical repairs. Ability to read electrical wiring and instrumentation diagrams. Hold a full driving licence. Be able to lead and assist the maintenance and engineering team on site for small construction projects and major maintenance activities. Minimum of 4+ years relevant engineering/maintenance experience.DesirableExperience in working with pressures and volumes in a Hydrant system. Process safety applied to fuel storage systems and tank farm operations. Control of work and permit to work experience. Hold a full HGV licence. Have experience or be trained in confined space entry. Knowledge of a petrochemical or aviation fuel plants. Experience in working with pressures and volumes in a fuel Hydrant, pipeline or pipework system. Good IT skills. Relevant technical qualification. Preferred NVQ level 3, 4 or 5. Ability to read Piping and Instrumentation diagram. (P&ID)
