CK Group are recruiting for a Downstream Process Scientist to join a leading biopharmaceutical organisation at their research and development facilities located in Slough, on an initial 12-month contract. The Company:Our client is a global biopharmaceutical company whose medicine treats thousands of patients around the world who live with severe diseases.Location:This role is located on a well-established biopharma R&D facility based in Slough. There are good transport links whether you drive or even use public transport. Slough is a great place to live and work and is easily commutable from Reading, Oxford and London.Downstream Process Scientist Role:This role will be responsible for contributing to the development of downstream processes for the recovery and purification of antibody-based therapeutics. The work will span the provision of Well-Characterised Processes supporting Drug Substance Manufacture at various stages of Drug Development. This role provides the opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative medicines for the treatment of patients.Your main duties will be to: - Undertake purification process development experiments for fundamental understanding of individual unit operations.- Assist with the evaluation of new bioprocess purification technologies.- Identify and utilise appropriate analytical techniques.- Demonstrate ability to analyse data, with good attention to detail.- Effectively communicate findings to multi-disciplinary team.Your Background:Applicants should have knowledge of various downstream processing tools, some experience of chromatography, as well as a good understanding of analytical methods for assessing product purity and antibody protein characterisation.
