Job Description

Transport Health & Safety Manager 3PL Logistics Operation Skelmersdale £30,000 - £40,000 MondayFriday Im currently recruiting for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join a market leading fresh food manufacturer and distributor.They are seeking a NEBOSH qualified H&S Manager to support the current Health & Safety team to play a pivotal role in delivering and maintaining a positive Health & Safety culture across production and logistics.The candidate;

  • NEBOSH or BSC qualification
  • IOSH Managing Safety qualification
  • Experienced in overseeing H&S for a 3PL transport operation
  • H&S management experience in a similar environment
  • Experience within a logistics, transport and distribution network
  • Preferably experience with ISO 39001 and ISO 45001
  • An understanding of BRC qualifications
  • Able to identify and separate out the key components of problems and situation
  • Enthusiastic approach
  • Hard working and reliable
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Excellent attention to detail
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Overall responsibility and compliance of the Companys Health & Safety, making sure staff are aware of the importance and follow safety protocol.
  • Assist with the wider business management teams the implementation of ISO 39001 and the newest standard ISO 45001.
  • Elect and set up Health & Safety representative meetings as per statutory requirements.
  • Implement practical and effective methods, both preventative and remedial, of promoting Health & Safety and safe working practices in the workplace.
  • Produce, review, update and implement all Health & Safety Policy and Procedures including mission statements.
  • Update and review all site Health & Safety signage.
  • Conduct/organise relevant Health & Safety training for staff as required, including first aid and fire safety.
  • Conduct all risk assessments as required by legislation and are reviewed at relevant intervals and to maintain records of the same.
  • Advise the Senior Team of all incidents reportable under R.I.D.D.O.R.
  • Conduct Health & Safety inspections and prepare reports and documents as required.
  • Bring to the attention of the Senior Team any relevant new legislation.
