Lancashire County Council have a successful ongoing partnership with Reed Education to provide Teaching Assistants to Secondary Schools across Lancashire.As a result, Reed Education are seeking a Teaching Assistant qualified to a Level 3. The role would be full time, starting in January 2024 and lasting for six weeks, although there is the potential for this to be extended for the right candidate.A Teaching Assistant Level 3 qualification is required for this role.A secondary school in Skelmersdaleare introducing their own on site KS3 Alternative Provision to support a small number of students who are struggling to access mainstream provision.These students will be following a bespoke programme for 6 weeks as a time limited intervention before they return to mainstream lessons.The school have appointed a teacher who will run the centre but they are now looking for a Specialist Teaching Assistant to work with them to provide one-to-one support / small group interventions, both in terms of English, Maths, Science and RE and alsoSEMH/Behaviour for Learning.Previous experience in an SEN one-to-one role would be preferable.The successful applicant must:• Be an excellent communicator and have a nurturing approach to students• Be reliable, committed and interested in working with students and demonstrate the qualities of a good role model (qualities of compassion, trustworthiness, politeness and good listening skills)• Have good interpersonal skills; be trustworthy, punctual as well as being patient and confident when working with children.Our Commitment:· High quality training and support· Opportunities to work across a number of schools· Competitive rates of pay in line with Teacher Pay Scale· Dedicated consultant to support you within your roleReed Education are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students and we expect all applicants to share this commitment.
