The overall Job Purpose of the Software Development Manager:To lead a small development team of 2 to deliver a migration of a legacy ERP system onto a modern platform. The Tech Stack being: .Net, Angular, and Oracle database. The role requires a 60/40 hands-on approach and can be home-based/remote working, but withinthe UK for occasional customer visits.A huge investment is in place, the team is expected to grow and the project to take up to 5 years.About the product:The ERP product covers the full supply chain from order entry through to the sign-on glass at the end destination. Modules include but are not limited to Order Entry, Goods Inbound, Stock Control, Distribution etc...The ERP system integrates into a high number of 3rd party and internal applications such as driver apps, BI tools, and websites of which the modern application should still integrate.Responsibilities and Accountability of the Software Development ManagerGuide, coach, and mentor team through best practice and Coding standards along with quality and compliance standards.Overall responsibility for delivery of multiple projects to a satisfactory conclusion on time and budgetCareer and training developmentEncourage innovative solutionsLiaise with QA team to ensure all testing procedures are adhered to and are robustAble to understand projects and tasks from a high business level through to technical detailManage and lead the developers in a dynamic, fast=paced environmentA strategy for the roadmap of future solutions and technologyThe technical skills/experience required from the Development Manager, are:The Essential:Development Management/Leadership experience or skills (Essential)
