Job Description

Job Title: Quality Assurance TechnicianLocation: Skelmersdale, LancashireSalary: £11.50 - £12.50 per hour Hours: 31.5hr (Rotating days and nights)(opportunity to work up to 60 hrs including overtime)£2.50 per hour overtime rate£10 per shift nights bonusQuality Assurance TechnicianThe Candidate

  • The successful candidate will ideally come from a Food Industry background or seeking a career in the Food Industry.
  • You will have a determined motivated approach and have an interest in quality.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Previous experience and /or knowledge of food safety standards (e.g. BRC) auditing and HACCP
  • Previous experience with retails such as; Tesco, Aldi and Morrison is advantageous
Quality Assurance TechnicianThe Role
  • Co-ordinate the completion of internal audits according to the Audit Schedule.
  • Conduct and report on traceability audit involving all departments.
  • Co-ordinate and follow up the site glass & HP audit.
  • Carry out hygiene audit of factory and report non-conformances
  • Carry out external and internal GMP audits
  • Carry out CCP audits
  • Create, Issue and Check QC documentation
  • Create product DWIs.
  • Review and archive paperwork as required.
  • Provide documented training to varying levels of staff in particular QA, LQC and team leaders.
  • Support LQC, supervisors and shift managers in Investigating customer complaints
  • Represent the technical department at daily review meetings and any other meetings applicable.
  • Use and manage locally stock on hold on JDE and the on hold record system, affectively reducing and eliminating stock on hold, and that recalled cases are dealt with swiftly and correctly according to their status.
  • Maintain the incident record database.
  • Liaise with other Technical teams regarding returned stock/recalled product.
  • Conduct the daily taste panel and act upon non-conformances highlighted
  • Act upon non-conformances raised.
  • Organise samples and write documentation for customer quality panels.
  • Sent product for micro/nutritional/protein testing to the laboratory.
  • Carry out positive release systems were applicable.
  • Completion of QA daily summary records.
  • Complete tasks as and when requested.
  • Conduct yourself in an orderly state which promotes quality, smart working and H&S.
