Start Date: November 2020Pay: KR2This vacancy is for a Midday Meals Assistant at The Oaks Infant School This role is for one hour per day (5 hours per week), working predominantly with our lovely Year R children.The role includes supervising and supporting the children whilst they eat and engaging with play with them once they have finished and go outside. During this time it is vital that the adults engage with pupils in conversations and play as well as manging their safety and enabling good hygiene (which is a particular focus under the current circumstances). Therefore, a cheery and caring disposition is essential! We are a three-form entry school with 9 classes for 270 children in years R, 1 and 2 plus a wonderful Nursery. Attached to the school is The Acorn Centre, a specially resourced provision who cater for children with an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP) for Speech and Language needs. We have up to 12 children in this specialist unit who integrate into the main school for learning experiences.We are proud to be part of the Potential in Everyone Academy Trust which enables us to work in partnership with our receiver school Minterne Junior School as well as the village schools of Bredgar CEP School and Borden CEP School.During our most recent Ofsted visit (January 2016), it was noted that we had a very committed, enthusiastic and positive staff team.We are committed to Safeguarding and all appointments and visits will be made with safeguarding procedures as our key priority.
