Job Description

Our mission is simple… to help the world Love Mondays.Every week, thousands of people across the UK start a new job – and it’s our job to help them get there.REED is a specialist provider of permanent, contract, temporary and outsourced recruitment solutions.We are recruiting for a Medical Support Officer to support a major criminal investigation.The role is predominantly working from home but includes agile as some office attendance in (Sittingbourne) and potentially some travel with the UK to assist with interviews.Requirements and responsibilities

  • Interest in medical law
  • Interest & experience in palliative care
  • Interpretation and review of medical notes
  • Interpretation of medical terminology and acronyms
  • Occasional Presentation of findings to an investigative team
  • Creation and maintenance of support documents
  • Provide support to an investigative team including senior officers & on hand to provide advice where required
  • Applicant must have completed a foundation training programme in the NHS and be fully registered as a medical practitioner with the GMC
  • Have experience of medical wards or medical jobs in the UK
  • Must be willing to arrange suitable medical indemnity with their medical protection society/union.
  • Knowledge and/or experience of looking after patients in a geriatric or palliative care setting desirable
  • Additionally, interest in medical law, professional regulation or quality assurance processes would be beneficial.
  • Would make an ideal out-of-programme experience (OOPE)
Essential skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to integrate into police team and to work with different people in people in different settings,
  • Must maintain high professional standards at all times.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt skills as needed.
  • You will need to have been living in the UK for the last three years to undertake police vetting
  • Applicant must have completed a foundation training programme in the NHS.
  • Have experience of medical wards or medical jobs in the UK.
  • Excellent report writing skills which is an essential part of the job.
