Job Description

We are currently looking for a machine/industrial cleaner to join a firm in Sittingbourne, this is a permanent position and requires someone who has had previous experience in a similar role or worked in a similar industry.The main purpose of the job is to work as part of a team to carry out cleaning of the different machines /used in a production/manufacturing environment .To be the right fit for this role, you must enjoy what the role entails, have a similar background to what the business operates in.Main Purpose of role: You will be required to ensure that all machinery and equipment is cleaned to the required standard and returned ready for production.Main duties will be :

  • In charge of ensuring production lines are cleaned at the end of production and in ready for next shift/ production job
  • Responsible for cleaning all machinery and equipment at the end of each shift.
  • Correctly storing all cleaned equipment
  • Disassemble and re-assemble machinery
  • Deep clean machinery after every allergen production run
  • Carrying out hygiene and allergen swabs at the end of cleaning
  • Constant liaise with team leaders to ensure machines are cleaned in time for production
  • Ensure down times are minimised
  • Carry out overhead cleaning according to schedule
  • Clean production walkways, factory floors and drains
  • Ensure all cleaning is recorded on in house system
  • Ensure use of correct chemicals and proper stock and storage at all times
  • Report any problems with machinery or equipment to Engineering dept/ line manager
  • Ensure the correct use of PPE
  • Adhering to Company Health and Safety guidelines
