Job Description

Pay: MPS Start Date: March / April 2021 tbc We are looking for an enthusiastic qualifiedteacher who shares our ethos about early childhood development to work withinour excellent team. This post is full time for a March / April 2021 start (datetbc asap) and is for maternity cover. We have a strong belief and ethos regarding earlychildhood development and pedagogy. We draw on the expertise of a range ofeducational pioneers including Reggio Emilia, Elizabeth Jarman, Anna Ephgraveand Julie Fisher. The heart of our ethos is about celebrating the uniqueness ofeach child and ensuring a truly creative, inspiring and child-led approachintertwinned with the high expectations set through our curriculum. In Year 2we deliver the National Curriculum and much more through a hands-on and enquirybased approach. The right candidate will be able to offer:

We are a three-form entry school with 9classes for 270 children in years R, 1 and 2 plus a wonderful Nursery. Attachedto the school is The Acorn Centre, a specially resourced provision who caterfor children with an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP) for Speech andLanguage needs. We have up to 12 children in this specialist unit who integrateinto the main school for learning experiences. We are proud to be part of the Potential inEveryone Academy Trust which enables us to work in partnership with ourreceiver school Minterne Junior School as well as the village schools ofBredgar CEP School and Borden CEP School. During our most recent Ofsted visit (January 2016),it was noted that we had a very committed, enthusiastic and positive staffteam. We are committed to Safeguarding and allappointments and visits will be made with safeguarding procedures as our keypriority. All staff will be fully inducted, including Safeguarding training andwill be subject to a full DBS check and collection of references beforeinterview. The school is set in attractive grounds with manymature trees which attract an abundance of wildlife. We are able to use theschool grounds to take learning out into the environment providing a broad andenriching experience for the children. Our School and all its personnel are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children.
