Job Description

Pay: MPS Start Date: January 2021We are looking for an enthusiasticqualified teacher who shares our ethos about early childhood development towork within our excellent team. This post is part time (Thursdays and Fridays)for a January 2021 start and is for maternity cover. We have a strong belief and ethosregarding early childhood development and pedagogy. We draw on the expertise ofa range of educational pioneers including Reggio Emilia, Elizabeth Jarman, AnnaEphgrave and Julie Fisher. The heart of our ethos is about celebrating theuniqueness of each child and ensuring a truly creative, inspiring and child-ledapproach intertwinned with the high expectations set through our curriculum. InYear 1 we have child-led provision carefully intertwinned with the NationalCurriculum, which enables children to excel through a pay and enquiry basedapproach. We are a three-formentry school with 9 classes for 270 children in years R, 1 and 2 plus awonderful Nursery. Attached to the school is The Acorn Centre, a speciallyresourced provision who cater for children with an Education and Health CarePlan (EHCP) for Speech and Language needs. We have up to 12 children in thisspecialist unit who integrate into the main school for learning experiences.We are proud to be part of thePotential in Everyone Academy Trust which enables us to work in partnershipwith our receiver school Minterne Junior School as well as the village schoolsof Bredgar CEP School and Borden CEP School. During our most recent Ofstedvisit (January 2016), it was noted that we had a very committed, enthusiasticand positive staff team. We are committed to Safeguardingand all appointments and visits will be made with safeguarding procedures asour key priority. All staff will be fully inducted, including Safeguardingtraining and will be subject to a full DBS check and collection of referencesbefore interview. The school is set in attractivegrounds with many mature trees which attract an abundance of wildlife. We areable to use the school grounds to take learning out into the environmentproviding a broad and enriching experience for the children.
