Job Description

Chemistry Team LeaderJoin this highly ambitious, leading provider of UKAS accredited water testing services for the commercial building sector, as a Chemistry Team Leader.This position is based in Kent and the company is part of a hugely successful nationwide Group. The company offers exceptional working environment with first-class Customer service, employee loyalty & benefits and focus on development and career advancement.Working alongside the Chemistry Laboratory Manager the post holder will be expected to assist in the operation of the Lab with particular focus on the Commercial and Domestic Water Testing Services.Main Responsibilities

  • Unpacking and sorting of daily samples for analysis.
  • Calibrating and maintaining laboratory instrumentation.
  • Carrying out test procedures on samples using ICP-OES, Gallery Plus, filtration and others.
  • Entering daily QC, KPI and PT data.
  • Keeping up with the laboratory quality check sheet, maintaining adequate level of stock and performing instrument troubleshooting
Skills Required
  • Degree or equivalent in Chemistry and a minimum of 3 years relevant laboratory experience within a UKAS accredited lab.
  • A deep understanding of analytical techniques and procedures
  • Able to adopt a methodical approach to work with accuracy and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Able to organise and prioritise team workload with flexibility to respond positively to changing demands.
  • High degree of computer literacy including the use of programmes such as Excel and Word
