Job Description

Role:- Transport Compliance ManagerLocation:- SheffieldSalary:- £35,000 - £37,500 (Depending upon experience)Hours Of Work:- Monday to Friday - 10 hour shifts (normally 07:00 - 17:00)The successful candidate will be responsible for 4 direct reports & 30+ sub-reports which include the Traffic Office Team & Transport Department. The main aim of this role is to ensure the team are performing at a consistent level, whilst achieving daily,weekly & monthly targets you will also be tasked with developing and mentoring the team whilst adapting to growth and profitability of the business.Duties will include:-

  • Managing & maintaining the companies operators licence
  • Manage the development, performance and maintenance of the organisations transport to produce an efficient transport service, maximising performance, value and profitability against pre-agreed targets
  • Ensuring that the transport team understands its duties and its role within the organisation
  • Responsibility to adhere to budgets and plan to maximise profitability
  • Conduct regular 1-2-1 meeting with the team focusing on personal & professional development
  • Manage, direct and monitor the transport service and the overall performance of the transport to increase efficiency and maximise service, performance, value and profit
  • Review and develop current processes alongside the senior management team
  • Managing, maintaining or acquiring transport related accreditation such as FORS, CLOCS Etc.
The Ideal candidate will possess or be able to demonstrate the following:-
  • A proven track record of planning and managing pallet network & groupage/transport/logistics
  • Class 1 HGV Licence (desirable)
  • CPC Qualification (a distinct advantage)
  • IOSH / NEBOSH Certification is an advantage
  • Experience within Transport Compliance
  • Excellent people management skills
  • Ability to mentor, engage and drive team performance
