Job Description

Jackson Hogg are delighted to be supporting an award winning engineering consultancy business in the appointment of a Structural Surveyor, to support their clients in the maximisation of their assets and risk minimisation. You will support their full existingclient base across the Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, Oil & Gas, Food, Bulk Storage & Distribution, Renewables and Energy industry, and will be expected to travel occasionally to client sites (predominantly based within the Yorkshire/Lancashire region). The rolefocuses on supporting clients for all requirements related to surveying civil and structural works, and will be the primary contact for routine inspections of a varity of in-service equipment.Main responsibilities:

  • Carry out inspections and surveys in line with relevant regulations for the following:o Steel Structures
  • o Pipe Birdges
  • o Storage tank bunds
  • o Culverts
  • o Walkways, access ladders and platforms
  • o Jetties and dolphins
  • o Steel portal buildings e.g warehouses, boiler houses, or plant containing buildings
  • Clear and concise report writing outlining survey findings, recommendations, and necessary actions; identifying potential challenges and discrepancies and communicate these effectively with clients and internal teams.
  • Prioritise and encourage safe working standards, always adhering to relevant safety guidelines.
  • Remain updated on surveying technology through continuous learning and training opportunities.
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience in Civil and Structural Surveying/Engineering, working on complex projects.
  • Experience working with a variety of equipment, including GPS, total stations and laser scanners would be advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently with limited training, acting at the forefront of the business with clients
  • Experience writing error free reports from scratch or using templates.
  • Professional Surveying certifications (advantageous)
  • A valid, UK driving licence
  • Strong interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Ability to influence, ideally in client facing roles
  • Ability to meet deadlines to correct standards.
