Job Description

Job Title: School CaretakerLocation: Sheffield, South YorkshirePosition Type: Full-TimeAre you looking for a rewarding part-time position that allows you to contribute to the well-being and safety of a local school Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking a dedicated and responsible individual to start at a school as a School Caretaker.This is an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact in the education community.Key Responsibilities:

  • Security and Safety: Ensure the safety and security of the school premises during your shift. Lock and unlock doors, gates, and windows as required. Monitor surveillance systems and respond to any security concerns.
  • Maintenance: Carry out minor repairs and maintenance tasks as needed, including plumbing, electrical, and general upkeep of school facilities. Report larger maintenance issues to the appropriate authorities.
  • Cleaning: Maintain the cleanliness of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas. Sweep, mop, vacuum, and perform other cleaning duties as assigned.
  • Groundskeeping: Keep the school grounds tidy and presentable. This includes maintaining outdoor spaces, removing litter, and clearing walkways during inclement weather.
  • Assist with Events: Set up and take down equipment and furniture for school events, meetings, and activities.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure that health and safety regulations are followed, including proper storage and disposal of hazardous materials.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a caretaker or maintenance role is preferred but not essential.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness.
  • Physical fitness to perform tasks that require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations is a plus.
