Job Description

Residential masterplanning for design lead premium developer in South Yorkshire.Client DetailsOne of the UKs leading privately owned Housebuilder known for their market leading designs. Operating primarily across the Midlands, the North and Scotland, their core market is the second and third time homes buyers. They have recently revamped and upgraded their portfolio, holding nothing back when comes to attention to detail and finishes. The teams is a really close knit group of professionals, with the right balance between autonomy and collaborative team effort.DescriptionAs the title would suggest, you will be focusing on residential masterplans for the business. Working closely alongside the Senior Layout Designer, you will cover what could be considered RIBA 0-3, or in hb terms, from initial site viability through to fully resolved layout. Duties will include:

  • Translating sketch layouts into AutoCAD;
  • Liaising with the internal land team on prospective sites and preparing sketch feasibilities;
  • Liaising with a variety of external consultants on the planning application and design process including planning officers, planning consultants, engineering consultants and parish councillors;
  • Reviewing site and planning constraints and monitoring Building Regulation implications to the layout;
  • Analysing the design of the layout at all stages to review the costing, value engineering where possible to reduce the development costings.
    • ProfileThis is a great entry level role for someone with a passion for the residential sector and urban design, who truly wants to make a positive impact on the communities were developing.You will ideally have a few years experience working in either a developer or consultancy doing similar work. An opinion and ability to make informed design decisions is key, as well an ability to articulate and maximise opportunities a specific site may yield.Competent use of AutoCAD is a must, and revit is a nice to have.
