Job Description

New Quality Inspector vacancy based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire to carry out Dimensional Inspection on cast and forged products. This position will be a Permanent role, based on 3 shifts Monday to Friday. This will be working within a large Machining andcast business based near the City Centre.Client DetailsBased in Sheffield my client supply products worldwide and due to new technology, they are now looking to recruit a Quality Inspector to ensure components are inspected fully, and confirmed as conforming or non-conforming to the engineering drawings.DescriptionAs the Quality Inspector you will be responsible to carry out Dimensional Inspection and Mark Out on cast, forged or wrought products and generate associated documentation. You will also ensure that components are inspected fully and confirmed as conformingor non-conforming to the drawings. It is the responsibility of the Quality Inspector to ensure product dimensional conformity.Other Duties Include

  • Inspectors are also required to assist in the setting up of components for machining, and also fit up and assembly of complex welded fabrications.
  • All inspectors are expected to be responsible and accountable for their own work and, whilst the supporting Supervisors and Managers maintain the system and provide appropriate support, it is the Inspectors who measure and confirm acceptance of the components.
  • The duties of this role include selection of the appropriate method and equipment to perform the inspection, checking and, where necessary, performing pre-use calibration checks on FARO and Laser scanning equipment.
  • Performing inspections; interpreting the results of these inspections and accepting responsibility for and reporting these results.
ProfileTo apply for the Quality Inspector position you will ideally have 3+ years within a similar role either on Casting, Forgings or machined components, other requirements include:
  • Dimensional Inspection or Mark Out Competence
  • Apprentice trained ideally (Engineering/Machinist)
  • Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel at a basic
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings Y
  • Experience of preparing and writing reports with good level of attention to detail
  • Self motivated and flexible
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good timekeeping
  • Willing to understand shift work
  • Willing to learn and develop new skills
  • Willingness to travel within the UK and abroad
Job OfferThe salary for this role will be dependent on background relevant skills, with a banding of £27,500 and £32,500. This position will be based on 3 shifts, Monday to Friday and will come with progression opportunities.
