Job Description

I am now looking to recruit a Project Engineer for a growing business based in Sheffield. This position is a Permanent role, Monday to Friday, days based. If you are currently employed as a Project Engineer and have a technical engineering background with the ability to communicate with new and exciting clients, this might be of interest to you.Client DetailsBased in Sheffield my client is a small but growing engineering business who design, supply and fit out all their own products nationally. They are currently going through some positive internal changes and due to this growth are looking to add a new Project Engineer or Technical Support Engineer to the team.DescriptionReporting into the Project Manager as the Project Engineer you will be the main contact between the Design Department and the Customer and will be responsible for a range of contracts UK wide. This position is mainly Sheffield based but some future travel will be required, to meet the customers in person. You will have a multiple list of clients and will be challenged in developing and attracting other potential customers.As the successful candidate you will work closely with field service technicians and the technical design team to enable the full project is completed on tim, in full to the customer specification. You will also lease with external contractors and site managers to make sure all HSE standards are adhered to.Other Duties include

  • Quotations and specifications.
  • Supplying Timeframes to customers.
  • Communication with local authorities when required.
  • Buying and Ordering components for manufacture.
  • Dealing with any problems that occur within a project.
  • ProfileTo apply for this position, you will have a strong Projects background, and the ability to understand Mechanical Engineering drawing. You do not need to be a Design Engineer as the client has a small design team, but you will need to manage multiple complex projects to tight time frames.Other requirements include;
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety Legislations (Required)
  • Previous Project Engineers work (Required)
  • Prince 2 Qualification (Ideal but not essential)
  • An ability to manage multiple ongoing projects and changing priorities (Required)
  • Clear communication through a variety of methods e.g. using visual tools, diagrams, drawings, reports.
  • An ability to interpret drawings, reports and other technical data.
  • Good IT skills including
  • A tendency to be inquisitive, creative, analytic, with a good attention to detail.
  • Job OfferMy client would consider a Graduate option paying between £20,000 and £28,000 or they would consider a fully fledged Project Engineer paying between £28,000 and £40,000.
