Job Description

SIG Plc. is a leading supplier of specialist building materials to trade customers across Europe with strong positions in its core markets as a specialist distributor of insulation and interiors products and as a merchant of roofing and exteriors products.We are currently looking to recruit a Payroll Assistant who will assist with the management of the relationship between SIG and the third-party payroll provider in relation to the overall service delivery of the payroll managed service. Continuouslyreviewing SLA’s in line with expectations whilst ensuring all pay data processed is complete and accurate and in accordance with business need. To support the payroll processes that falls outside of the third-party managed payroll service.What does the role involveAs Payroll Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring Payroll service deliverables are met by the third-party payroll provider and assist with implementing changes required based on legislative and business need. Based on output from thethird-party Payroll provider assist with the reconciliation of the UK payrolls for SIG approval with the support of the HR Shared Service team ensuring all business requirements have been met. You will also provide advice and guidance to HR colleagues on allaspects of Payroll, maintain efficient document retrieval for all payroll cycles, ensuring appropriate approvals and audit controls are in place, and assist with the administration of the company employee benefit schemes and provide scheme advice to HR operations.The role holder must be able to monitor and adhere to pay related policies and procedures, as well as keeping up to date with changes in Payroll legislations and help with prioritising tasks that are to be completed by the HR Shared Service team to reflectthe payroll cycle, calendar, and associated deadline.The successful candidate will also build relationships with key stakeholders to ensure payroll procedures and deadlines are followed and returns of payroll data are complete and accurate. Provide support with the administration of SIG Pension schemes includingcontribution uploads to Pension provider online portals in accordance with agreed submission dates and regulatory requirements and support the UK reward team with the launch of new initiatives and ad hoc projects as and when necessary. You will also processoff payroll out of cycle payments with Finance, raising same day payment requests as required ensuring control and audit requirements are adhered to, provide support with the administration of key processes that fall outside of the HR Operations team suchas, but not limited to, SIP administration and other internal stakeholder processes, and support with the production of P11D’s on an annual basis ensuring deadlines are adhered to and accuracy targets are met.The successful candidate will require:• CIPP qualified or equivalent experience.• Knowledge of PAYE and benefits legislation e.g. PAE, salary sacrifice• Numerate, organised and administratively strong• Experience of end-to-end payroll processes• Excellent IT skills – Excel, Word, Payroll Systems• Strong audit and compliance knowledgeIn return we offer:• Highly Competitive salary with annual pay award and excellent bonus scheme• 25 days holiday + 8 bank holidays.
