Job Description

We have been asked to support one of our client on a fantastic opportunity to join their team. If you are looking for business you can develop you career in the Legal industry within a friendly well-respected law firm this is a great opportunity for you.Role & Responsibilities:

  • Arranging mediation or expert psychological evaluations in family law divorce and custody matters
  • Contributing to trial preparation in litigation practices
  • Providing behind-the-scenes support in the courtroom at hearings and trials, or in arbitration, mediation, administrative proceedings, and closings
  • Drafting legal documents and pleadings, including deposition notices, subpoenas, motions, certifications, contracts, briefs, and complaints
  • Investigating the facts of a case by interviewing clients and witnesses and performing legal research into case law and precedents
  • Handling exchange of certain information between opposing parties to a lawsuit
  • Organising and managing files, documents, and exhibits
  • Filing documents with federal and state courts
  • Claims management
  • Analysing statements, reports and research findings
  • Working on pre-litigation and litigation cases
  • Working on securing settlements
  • Administrative support to senior fee earners
  • Client liaising - Phone, email and letter
  • Closing settled or completed files
  • Exposure to professional negligence, debt recovery, civil / commercial disputes and litigation is preferable
  • Candidate requirements:
  • Associate degree or similar (Ideal but not essential)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Must be able to effectively multi-task, manage time-sensitive documents and have exceptional organisational skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to function effectively in a busy, team-oriented environment.
  • Office administration experience.
