Job Description

Evolve is recruiting for an Independent Prescribing Optometrist to join the UK’s top rated eye hospital in providing outstanding eye care for their patients. This is a patient-focused company who are recognised for consistently delivering excellent resultsand offering treatment options for the full range of vision correction solutions.Your role will involve carrying out pre/post operative consultations, and assessing the suitability of patients for treatment based in Sheffield.This is a full time, permanent position and is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing and developing business, and benefit from their fully funded training programmes!Salary & Package

  • Up to £65,000 per year DOE
  • 33 days annual leave inclusive of bank holidays

Ideal Requirements for the Optometrist
  • Current GOC registration as a fully qualified Optometrist
  • Independent prescribing qualification required
  • Extensive experience working as an Optometrist in a refractive, high street or hospital environment
  • Experience of using patient administration systems and electronic medical record systems
Role Responsibilities for the Optometrist
  • Carry out examinations that are associated with refractive, cataract, glaucoma, and retinal surgeries
  • Run acute and follow up clinics post-surgery for all patients
  • Provide health advice and support to patients attending the hospital
  • Provide first line clinical advice to patients and follow the appropriate means of referral to a medical practitioner if necessary
  • Ensure awareness of the uses, safety precautions and handling of equipment within the clinical competency framework
  • Ensure awareness of CQC policies and updates, attending all mandatory update courses
  • Follow correct procedures for documenting and reporting any accident or incident.
