Job Description

An experienced Operations Manager is needed to join the team at this premium boring and turning company based in Sheffield on a full-time basis.As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the production and workshop staff and you will report directly to the Operations Director.You will oversee the operations and throughput of their Nexus Deep bore facility. The main objective is to ensure the smooth running of the facility and provide the best quality customer service possible.This is an excellent opportunity to progress your career with a well-established company!About the CompanyThrough considerable growth since its conception, its excellent reputation has been built over many years by providing high-quality solutions combined with a trusted and reliable service. They specialise in deep hole boring, drilling, honing and CNC turningfor global clients in multiple sectors.Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the throughput of the companys products from order receipt through to delivery in line with customer requirements. This includes but is not limited to goods in, cutting, NDE, inspection, packing and shipment
  • To manage their on-time delivery KPIs, ensuring all orders are delivered on time per their customers expectations
  • Maintain high-quality levels in the facility in line with their ISO 9001 requirements
  • Manage the workforce to ensure they have adequate resources to fulfil operational requirements
  • Work directly with suppliers to manage their consumable purchasing
  • Manage cost control to ensure expenditure is in line with agreed budgets
  • Control maintenance of all machinery to ensure continuous production
  • Hold regular meetings with staff to keep them informed and to ensure standards are maintained
  • Ensure all work is carried out in line with their Quality Management System Management of health and safety standards to adhere to the Health and Safety at Work Act, 1974 and the company handbook
  • Report regularly regarding any issues, i.e. overruns, machinery failures etc
  • Attend regular meetings with fellow managers to discuss specific projects, measurements and KPIs
