The Mechanical Design Engineer will produce basic engineering (layouts & calculations), detail engineering and checking in AutoCad and/or SolidEdge (3-D) software.Client DetailsOur client is a leader within the heavy industry sector relating to metals manufacturing and R&D.DescriptionThis is an initial 6 month assignment as a Mechanical Design Engineer looking to start within January.Responsibilities will include producing basic engineering (layouts & calculations), detail engineering and checking in AutoCad and/or SolidEdge (3-D) software.PAYE only.ProfileYou will have substantial design experience and knowledge of the relevant technology area (Metals); Machine design & drafting using 2D & 3D CAD packages; Design Calculations; and ability to be able to communicate on both technical and non-technical issues.It will be highly advantageous is you are skilled in SolidEdge; Autodesk Vault and AutoCAD Mechanical.You will also have working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and requirements; Must be self-motivated and proficient in time management; Ability to multi-task and set priorities for self and others; Be IT literate with all department and businesssystem tools; Must be able to solve problems quickly and positively; and take an active part in the decision making of the engineering team.Job OfferYou will receive weekly PAYE salary provided by Michael Page which factors in workplace pension, holiday pay, etc.
