REED Engineering & Manufacturing are working with a leading Engineering & Manufacturing Company.Working both independently and within our site Maintenance Team, the successful candidate duties include:Immediately responding to breakdowns, carrying out fault diagnosis, and carrying out repairs in a safe and timely manner.Installing new machineryCarrying out Planned Preventative MaintenanceProviding technical support within the team• Demonstrate sound general knowledge of, and comply with, the Health and Safety at Work Act and other legislation• Have completed Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship• Have at least 5 years’ previous experience as a Fitter, within a similar industrial/engineeringenvironment• Demonstrate extensive experience in using own initiative to identify mechanical faults and carry out repairs• Experience of working in a medium to heavy engineering industry would be advantageous• Be able to work well with others (good interpersonal skills)• Be comfortable working at height using either access equipment or climbing ladders to fixed working platforms• Good organisational skills, including time management• Be proficient in operating workshop machinery (Pillar Drill, Pedestal Drill) as well as various hand tools• Be proficient in fabrication and welding (basic installation and repairs)• Be proficient in carrying out fault finding and repairs on Pneumatic and Hydraulic systems• Be proficient in pipefitting, both installation and repair work• Be capable of reading pneumatic, hydraulic and engineering drawings• ONC, NVQ level 3 minimum, C&G etc or apprentice trained.Days for 2 weeks and Afternoons the 3rd week and rotating back to days
