Job Description

Location: Home-based presently (Sheffield or Newcaslte office based normally)Contract: Full-time, permanentSalary:Negotiable (dependent on experience)Leading education supply and recruitment agency Vision for Education is looking for a strategic and operationally focused Human Resources Manager to join the company’s senior management team.Vision for Education and our sister companies, Smart Teachers and ABC Teachers, have 15 branches and employ 200 staff. The Human Resources Manager will deliver people management strategies in support of the organisation’s strategic aim and will play a vital role in providing administrative functions, support and expert advice on all Human Resources matters. This role will report directly to the Group Operations Director.HR Manager responsibilities:

  • Work in close partnership with senior management to prepare and implement HR strategy
  • Support managers and team leaders on all recruiting matters
  • Assist with recruiting and staffing, such as interviewing
  • Advise managers and provide guidance on HR policy and procedures
  • Keep up to date with UK employment legislation and ensure company compliance on all HR matters
  • Manage investigations and complex employee relations issues including redundancy and grievance
  • Ensure employee relation cases are managed to meet best practice requirements
  • Develop and maintain HR policies
  • Monitor all employee records to include maternity, paternity requests and absence and sickness and provide regular reports to the senior management team
  • Coordinate work placement, graduate and apprenticeship processes
  • Manage HR personnel files to ensure they are kept up to date
  • Develop starter and leaver procedures
  • Gather and evaluate market data to measure the organisation’s competitiveness for salary reviews, compensation and benefits packages
  • Write job descriptions to attract quality candidates
  • To review and update all HR documents including contracts and handbooks
  • To ensure all 3 business HR practices, strategy and documents are aligned
  • Design and work across HR projects
  • Develop (and monitor) a performance appraisal system that works with the company culture
  • Requirements:
  • Qualified CIPD member
  • Proven HR generalist experience on both strategic and operational level
  • Thorough, up-to-date knowledge of employment law
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Experience of recruitment and interviews at a senior level
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Have a hands-on attitude, whilst remaining flexible and adaptable
  • Demonstrate ability to motivate and positively influence others
