Job Description

Head of Health & Safety at a leading UK manufacturer based in Sheffield.With site-wide responsibilities across multiple UK sites this role provides a brilliant opportunity for a strategy minded individual to make their mark on a growing business.Client DetailsMichael Page Engineering & Manufacturing are working in partnership with a UK based manufacturer who supply a wide range of products to a large customer base across the UK and internationally.With several sites across the UK this manufacturing business are looking to recruit a driven, strategic and people-orientated Head of H&S to take site-wide ownership for their Sheffield site with some regional responsibility for other sites within the group.DescriptionThe Head of Health & Safety will form part of the senior leadership team of this impressive manufacturing facility.Other day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and contribute to the development of the safety management system focussing on standards, behaviours and procedures
  • Ensure best practice is implemented and shared across the group
  • Provide a professional H&S advisory service to other senior leaders across the business
  • Maintain existing relationships with regulators such as HSE and Competent Authority
  • Use statistical analysis and monitoring to identify causes and trends of safety to enable predictive as opposed to reactive behaviours
ProfileSuccessful candidates will have a strong manufacturing health and safety background and proven experience of managing teams. You will also possess:
  • Awareness of heavy manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of H&S strategies
  • Proven experience working with regulatory bodies such as the HSE
  • Educated to degree standard or hold a NEBOSH Diploma
  • Ability to engage and influence colleagues and peers
Job Offer
  • £70-80k + car/car allowance
