Job Description

Finance Director Designate Sheffield £competitive salary plus benefits Warwick Ward are a well-established family business who supply and stock new and used construction and recycling equipment. They believe people are their number one asset and their dedicated team are all driven to achieve the mission of "Quality withoutcompromise". The business is growing rapidly, doubling in size in the last two years and now operates across four sites in the UK with plans for another two in the next twelve months. As a result of this growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced seniorfinance person to lead and develop this part of the business. This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic and enthusiastic senior finance professional.Reporting directly to the board you will lead the finance and accounting function based at our centre of excellent in Tankersley.Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage and oversee all aspect of financial management including reporting and analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Control of the businesss Treasury function and cashflow requirements.
  • Management of a team of seven, ensuring the day-to-day accounting tasks are carried out
  • Provision of analysis to support business decisions and present this to the Board
  • External liaison with the banks and funders.
  • Project based work to support the commercial direction of the business.
The Person
  • This is a newly created role and is an excellent opportunity for someone to make it their own.
  • You will already have a proven track record of working in a senior finance role in your career to date, ideally within a Small to Medium sized business. A professional accounting qualification (CGMA, ACCA or ACA) would be ideal but not essential.
  • You will have excellent management and leadership skills to be able to get the best results.
  • Experience of liaising with external funders would be ideal but not essential (related to asset and working capital).
  • You will have excellent communication skills and be able to present financial information at board level effectively
  • You will be hardworking and "hands on", committed to getting the job done
