Job Description

JOB OVERVIEWThe University of Sheffield International College is seeking Exam Invigilators to help in the running of the face-to-face student examinations in the college. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESThe invigilator will be responsible for the proper conduct of the exams in a specific venue, and for the reporting of any misconduct or incidents during the exam. Currently all of our examinations take place in classrooms in the college. There will be dutiesto perform before, during and after the exams:

  • Assisting with the collection of all the exam papers, stationery and materials.
  • Ensuring the exam venue is set up ready for the exam to begin on time.
  • Ensuring all the necessary paperwork is completed, posters displayed, materials distributed and rooms checked ready for the exam to start.
  • Ensuring the students are under exam conditions as soon as they enter the exam venue and ensuring student ID is checked.
  • Ensuring the necessary paperwork is completed and that exam regulations are adhered to throughout.
  • Ensuring the exam procedures are followed and that all paperwork is completed before the students are dismissed in an orderly manner.
  • Ensuring those students without ID are dealt with in accordance with procedures.
  • Tidying the venue and ensuring the furniture is moved back as appropriate.
ABOUT YOU
  • Ability to take direction and instruction from others
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (fluent spoken and written English)
  • Experience of speaking to a large group of students/people
  • Strong record-keeping skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
