Job Description

Compass Life Sciences are exclusively supporting Europes leading provider of Medical Imaging and Radiopharmaceutical diagnostics, to support the search of talented Cyclotron Operators for multiple positions onsite at their state-of-the-art facility near Sheffield that has been designed around a twin cyclotron set up and contains the first ever TR-24 cyclotron to be installed in the UK. In this, the fastest growing part of the organisation, this is a fantastic opportunity to play a crucial role in the development and manufacture of life saving radiology diagnostics technologies. The Cyclotron Operator positions operate on a rotating shift pattern to support a 24/6 operation, so all candidates must be happy to undertake a range of shift patterns including nights and have their own means to travel to site at times when public transport may not be available. THE ROLE As a Cyclotron Operator, you will be directly involved in the operation and maintenance of our clients cyclotrons and supporting plant for the production radiopharmaceuticals. You will work on a wide range of projects and processes, to support the production of Radio Isotopes used within medical diagnostics across the UK and Europe. In this position you will support a range of areas and have responsibilities and duties that will see you engaging with the latest technology and to the highest of Regulatory, Quality, and Compliance standards. RESPONSIBILITIES Carry out day-to-day Operation of the cyclotrons for manufacture of radioisotopes under Good manufacturing practices (GMP).Carry out PPM and reactive maintenance in line with established procedures.Ensure rapid response on all machinery breakdowns, fault finding and implement correction.Capture and record all maintenance work completed.Capture and record all required KPI information.Prepare purchase orders and maintain inventory for your area of responsibilityAssist as required in establishing and developing procedures and documentation under direction from the engineering managerCollaborate with other departments and facilities (potential to travel)Attend training courses as required by the company to carry out your duties.Will involve regular shift work (nights and days)REQUIREMENTS To be considered for this role our client is looking for a passionate Engineer or Physicist that has experience in the production of Radiopharmaceuticals. You will have a strong understanding and experience working within GMP environments and be familiar with these regulations, as well as having experience with aseptic procedures. Our client is looking for candidates that are able to demonstrate; A degree or diploma in engineering, electronic or mechanical technology from a recognized technical institute, or equivalent training, for example through military service or apprenticeship.Experience working in a manufacturing environment operating and maintaining equipmentWorks well in a team environment.Ability to work under pressure and can prioritize effectively to support own workload and that of the team.Willingness to learn and develop new skills.Ability to follow procedures and instructionsGood communication skillsComputer literate (Microsoft office applications, VBA experience is desirable but not essential)Ability and means to travel as shift work will cross nights when public transport is less availableNEXT STEPS If you have experience working within RadioPharmaceuticals and are looking for a challenging but rewarding position in an industry recognised market leader, this could be a great opportunity to develop your career and have significant impact within this rapidly growing business area.
