REED Accountancy is excited to be working with the UKs largest manufacturer and distributer of solid fuels to secure a full-time, all rounded credit controller. With over 200 years in business and over 650 employees operating across 35+ sites, they arethe key player in the industry.It is imperative the successful candidate takes full responsibility for the role in its entirety with their own ledger, as they are covering credit control in all areas of the clients customer baseCommercial & Retail.The role is based in Sheffield, S21, with free on-site parking.Job Spec:Hours: full-time, 37.5Salary: £22,000 - £25,000Holidays: 23 days (increases after every year of service) + plus bank holidaysPension: company matched up to 5%THE ROLE: Maintaining of full audit trail of debt chase activity to include all correspondence both verbal and written and to record all relevant information to the account. Controlling all queries raised against accounts under your control in a timely manner, fully recorded and documented, resolved efficiently to prevent payment delays. Report to management on a periodic basis account status and circumstances for overdue invoices including action taken to resolve/recover payment. To resolve any contentious issues with the customer to avoid escalation up the chain. To prevent any debt becoming overdue. To ensure a professional approach is taken in carrying out the role in an accurate and timely manner.ABOUT YOU: Full understanding of the credit control function, including standard practices of debt recovery, IT proficient, Full knowledge of Double Entry Bookkeeping with proven experience of generation and posting credit notes, debit notes and journals, Excellent communication skills on all levels internal and external to the organisation / telephone manner with professionalism but with authority to achieve results / administration skills with structured and organised approach, Ability to use own initiative in identifying, addressing, and resolving day-to-day issues and challenges, Knowledge of legal recovery system is an advantageIf interested in this role, please send your CV and availability for an interview as soon as possible.
