REED Engineering & Manufacturing are working with a leading Engineering company with a strong reputation.CNC Programmer, Setter OperatorDuties and Responsibilities: Programming, Setting and Operating of Fanuc, Okuma, Mazatrol and similar systems with live tooling Running Doosan and Mazak Lathes Editing of new and existing programmes Working closely with the Applications engineer for tooling and CAD/CAM support, receiving a program and loading into the Control. Reading through the program and understanding the various G & M codes and where they should be used. Adding in probing cycles to set machine and part Dutums. Calculating the offsets to correctly position the part. Adjusting Feeds, speeds, and depths of cut to suit the material being machined. Setting appropriate Tool Life constraints to get the best out of the consumables. Advising on types of tooling and fixturing to assist the Apps Engineer in programming. Copy and pasting between programs. Building new tools, measuring them, and adding them to the machine, both physically and in the machines control. Setting the machine and tombstone for lights out running where possible Hand finishing/cleaning of components where necessary Final inspection of components, maintaining and owning the quality of the products machined Following and maintaining all documentation standards required Working to very fine tolerances within a Six Sigma environment Working to production schedules to meet output requirementsSkills and Experience Experience of PUMA and ST60 would be highly advantageous Experience of Okuma OSP, Mazatrol or Fanuc controller a distinct advantage A strong understand of Turning and basic Milling techniques Experience in a low to medium volume, high tolerance production environment Ideally, a time-served apprentice with 2-3 years experience in a similar environment Experience in working with Nickel Alloys wold be advantageous Precision engineering or tool making background Experience of operating Mitutoyo CMM an advantage Use of a range of measuring equipment, micrometres, Height Gauge etc Willingness and ability to adapt to company manufacturing proceduresMornings: MonFri 6am2pmAfters: MonWed 2pm11pm, Thurs2pm10.20pm, Fri2pm6pm
