Job Description

Deliver innovative product concepts and interact with customers to find market driven solutions as part of a fun and supportive team.Client DetailsMichael Page have partnered with a global organisation who have been at the forefront of their industrial sectors in both the products they can provide and their reputation in the market.They are a customer centred business and the innovative products they produce are mostly driven by customer interaction and requests. Operating out of an office and manufacturing base in Sheffield this business is needing to add a talented Applications Engineer to their high performing and established team.DescriptionYou will report to the Product Manager and be responsible for delivering innovative product concepts and interacting with customers to drive idea generation. You will be accountable for the success of the concepts you help to create.The Applications Engineer will:

  • Support the development of a strategy for the support and growth of the product portfolio and act as the key decision influencer in your areas of expertise
  • Make recommendations to customers for the solution of engineering problems using current products
  • Have a full understanding of the manufacturing processes available and be capable of leading the thorough research and development processes required to bring a product to market.
  • Manage and develop a strong pipeline of new applications. Work closely with marketing and customers to develop new business in line with the strategy.
  • Act as a link between marketing, manufacturing & logistics and consistently arm the sales force with the technical tools and information needed to be effective.
    • ProfileYou will form part of a newly established team focusing on long term product development priorities. You will be technically minded, outgoing and naturally inquisitive.The ideal Applications Engineer will:
  • Hold a minimum of a degree in a design or mechanical subject.
  • Display an in-depth knowledge of the innovation and R&D process
  • Have worked in a development/ applications role within a mechanical industry
  • A driven attitude towards generating your own results and outcomes
