Job Description

Summary Youll work in a team of 5 Volunteering & Community staff members. The team looks after our 350+ active volunteers, community involvement and our large group of Alumni volunteers.Youll be one of our 3 Volunteering & Community Assistants. The team works across 7 days a week, working pattern is flexible during the week with one full weekend in 3 weeks.Other than daily volunteer management and administration youll assist with volunteer recruitment, induction, retention and exit.Interviews for this role will be held on the 15th November. What its like to work here Knole is a stunning property which boasts a 1000 acre deer park, historic showrooms with a world-class collection of paintings and furniture, sprawling courtyards, gatehouse tower and conservation studio. We are passionate about caring for this wonderfulproperty and visitors are at the heart of all we do.We are a busy team, who like a challenge and work at a fast pace. We work collaboratively with each other and thewider property andwere hands on and work together to get the job done. Click here for more information about this location What youll be doing Youll work in a team of 3 Volunteering & Community Assistants. The team is responsible for the day-to-day management and organisation of volunteering involvement at Knole. The team works across 7 days a week, working pattern is flexible during the weekwith one full weekend in 3 weeks. Youll assist with volunteer recruitment, induction, retention and exit and you will assist in ensuring the Knole team are giving a high standard of customer service.We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced working environment, someone who is flexible, adaptive and can think on their feet. Youll work with a wide range of people (over 350 volunteers) so youll need to be confident in managing differentpeople. Who were looking for We would love to hear from you if youre able to demonstrate the following skills/experience:

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Understanding of the difference between staff and volunteers and enthusiastic about the benefits of volunteering
  • Good communication and team-working skills
  • Good coordination and organisation skills
  • Knowledge and practical experience of IT systems e.g. Microsoft Office
  • Flexible approach and positive attitude towards change and a fast-paced working environment
