Job Description

Summary Are you the person who can help create new, inclusive, and innovative marketing activities to promote our properties in the Ightham Mote portfolio Were looking for someone to help reach new and diverse audiences, tailor our activity and connect with ourmembers. This Marketing and Communications Officer role at Ightham Mote is responsible for delivering our existing marketing and communications plan for 2022 as well as developing our future strategy.This is a full-time, permanent contract opportunity. What its like to work here Visitors lose themselves in this romantic moated manor house, described as one of the most beautiful and interesting of English country houses. Ightham Mote, built nearly 700 years ago, has seen many changes and been owned by Medieval knights, courtiersto Henry VIII and high society Victorians. The welcoming team provide a fantastic customer service, and in joining this team, youll become part of the family too.You will be a key player within a close hard-working team, which delivers at pace and has high ambitions and vision. Ightham Mote & North Kent portfolio includes Ightham Mote as our flagship and in addition several hidden gems of Kentish history, such asCobham, Hawkwood & Petts Wood, Oldbury and Old Soar Manor. Covering some 2,500 acres of Kent Countryside, there are 33 staff and 500 volunteers, actively involved across all sites and covering all disciplinesClick here for more information about this location What youll be doing Day to day, youll manage and help develop our annual marketing plan to help achieve our ambitious targets, helping us to reach out to new audiences. This will include defining advertising activities and creating promotional materials and updates (acrossall media platforms, including social media), writing and distributing press releases and representing us on-location filming and broadcast media when you need to.Were looking for someone who can help us reach larger and more diverse audiences for our places and our digital content. Youll work as part of a team to make sure that were sharing the best stories we can. Spreading the word about places to visit in thegreat outdoors, and raising awareness of our conservation work are key to what were about.Please also read the full role profile, attached to this advert. Who were looking for To deliver this role successfully, you will need to have;

  • A good understanding of marketing techniques, including websites as well as digital and social media
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent digital and social media skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong IT Skills (including Microsoft Office)
  • Problem solving skills, and ability to work on own initiative
