Job Description

Internal Audit ManagerFlexible hybrid workingSalary to £63,000 + bonusAstrum Search is working with a leading UK insurance business to recruit an Internal Audit Manager into their respected team. The business has offices across the UK and the role can be based in either Peterborough, Portsmouth, Kent, London, Birmingham orManchester.The role reports to the Group Head of Internal Audit and you will be responsible for working in small teams to deliver the annual audit plan.Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage, including coaching and mentoring a small team.
  • Conduct internal audit reviews on a variety of audits as determined by the annual audit plan, such as general insurance, regulatory reviews, operations, claims etc.
  • Perform audit testing to evaluate control design and effectiveness
  • Identify, validate and present audit findings to senior management whilst developing strong working relationships with the business
  • Provide purposeful and constructive audit findings and challenge management on current ways of working
  • Undertake follow up reviews on agreed action plans
Experience:
  • Prior internal audit experience within the general insurance market is a must A relevant qualification (ACA/ACCA/CMIIA/CIA etc)
  • Experience of reviewing and criticallyanalysing operational processes
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Analytically minded with strong attention to detail.
The business offers a flexible working policy and you will typically spend 2-3 days per week in the office. There is limited UK travel (approximately 10-20%) with the role.You will be part of a small but well-respected audit function and will be given the opportunity to ownership of your own work. There will also be opportunities to further develop your internal audit skill and progress in the department.
