Summary The National Trust is a busy, dynamic organisation with a great deal going on at all times which guarantees that no two days will be the same. You’ll have to love variety and be a great multi-tasker. As well as supporting day to day operations, you’ll have the chance to support a variety of workstreams and offer your advice beyond your team. You’ll always champion best practice when it comes to business service and will be confident challenging the norm when you think there’s a better way of doing something.This is a fixed term contract due to end when the previous employee returns from maternity leave. At this point we cannot confirm exactly how long this contract will last, but it is unlikely to be more than 12 months. What its like to work here The property is part of the Ightham Mote & North Kent portfolio which includes some hidden gems of Kent’s history, including Ightham Mote, Cobham, Hawkwood & PettsWood, Oldbury Hill and Old Soar Manor. The portfolio also includes 2500 acres of Kent Countryside.There are 33 staff and 500 volunteers across the portfolio. We work closely with our adjacent properties of Knole and Chartwell, all of which sit within the London and South East region – the largest within the National Trust. What youll be doing This is a maternity cover position. We are looking to recruit a hard-working, positive and adaptable individual who can work efficiently and at pace, to join the small, high achieving Facilities and Business Services team. You will be fully proficient in Microsoft Office programs and will be confident using compliance systems and databases, learning how to use and champion new systems. Previous experience with Sharepoint would be desirable. The office is the central hub of the property, so you will be part of the ‘go to’ team for staff and volunteer queries, as well as being the first point of contact for visitor enquiries by phone and email. Flexibility and adaptability are key as is excellent customer care. This role will require some weekend and Bank Holiday working. You’ll be confident using a variety of IT packages to create reports, keep accurate records and have a keen attention to detail.
