Job Description

We are looking to recruit a Company Accountant and experienced Bookkeeper in our Send (Near Guildford) office, to assist in managing our day-to-day accounting and finance requirements on a permanent basis.We are RAM Rugby, RAM Cricket & ALOB, a sports equipment company based in Surrey. We are a great place to work, and we are looking for a like-minded person to join our friendly team.Due to the nature of the business, our roles are office based. At this current time, we have been abiding by all the Covid legislation and taking all necessary precautions and measures. We are able to temporarily work from home when required.The ideal candidate will have significant experience of Sage 50, with the ability to review the way we currently work, suggest and then implement improvements. Experience of a product-based business and handling stock inventory is desirable.Responsibilities will include:- Managing sales and purchase ledgers, ensuring monthly reconciliation to control accounts- Allocating receipts and payments to appropriate ledger and reconciling bank account on a monthly basis- Matching purchase orders with invoices and resolving discrepancies- Processing of vendor transactions from online retail platforms and matching to the sales ledger- Preparing twice monthly supplier payment runs- Reconciling supplier statements- Updating Sage products, price lists and supplier information- Maintaining a record of customer trading terms agreements- Preparing monthly financial statements, including cash flow, profit and loss statements and balance sheets- Preparing quarterly tax returns, along with operating and business taxes- Providing ad hoc management reportingIdeally this person will- Be qualified by experience in a similar business either retail or wholesale- Hold bookkeeping qualifications, such as AAT- Have experience of handling stock within Sage- Be an expert in Sage 50 and able to suggest improvements to current ways of workingIf you feel you are the right person for the job, please apply with your CV and a covering letter.Unfortunately, we are only able to respond to successful candidates.Thank you for your interest.
