**** Senior Process Engineer Vacancy ****Do you have a technical background of process engineering in the electronics industryDo you have the capability to lead a team of engineers and technicians effectivelyDo you live in or are in the surrounding area of SedgefieldBaltic Recruitment are proud to be recruiting on behalf of a company in the Sedgefield area who are a ground-breaking company working at the cutting edge of flexible electronics. They are recruiting on a permanent basis for a Senior Process Engineer who specialises in post fabrication assembly. Read on to find out more:Key Tasks of the Senior Process Engineer

  • Develop robust, high yielding and stable processes operating on structured polymer films at high volume including laser-based processes and bonding of electronic components using conductive adhesives.
  • Develop innovative, cost-effective equipment in partnership with vendors
  • Provide high quality mentoring and training to engineering, operational and maintenance staff
  • Produce effective reports, publications and presentations in a professional manner
    • Qualifications and Training Required
  • High level experience in electronic component processing and assembly
  • Degree in Engineering (mechanical, chemical), Physics, Materials Science
  • Experience in laser or photonics processing
  • Green belt Lean 6 sigma certification or higher
  • Knowledge of electronic bonding including conductive adhesives
    • Skills and Experience Required
  • Experience of materials processes using lasers
  • Confident ability to inspect and interpret thin-film processes using microscopy.
  • Exposure to the processing of delicate materials such as thin films, polymers or biomaterials
  • Understanding of some of the techniques for fabrication of micrometer-scale devices and structures, such as photolithography, thin film deposition, injection moulding, ink-jet printing.
  • Ability to work with equipment suppliers, developing trials, specifications and tracking projects for the supply of advanced processing equipment.
  • Use of Quality Systems in development and manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with the use of quality-enhancing techniques such as 8D, FMEA, fishbone, 5 Whys etc.
  • Demonstrable innovation within an industrial environment
  • Strong and demonstrable problem-solving skills to support product development and manufacturing.
  • Experience of high-volume automated pick and place manufacturing of electronic components.
  • Ability to mentor and lead colleagues in technical developments.
