Our client is an international organisation developing a range of market leading technical products for the transportation industry. Due to ongoing development, the company is looking to recruit an ambitious quality technician / junior engineer to supportthe development of new products and their introduction to the manufacturing facility.The Role: Assist in ensuring products are compliant with applicable customer specifications and Industry Standards. Measuring, checking of products using a variety of equipment, ensuring compliance to applicable drawing, specifications and standards. Collation of documentation associated with new product approvals. To support in ensuring deviation from drawing and specification is captured within the defined concession process. Assist in creating Standard Operating Procedures, support in creating PFMEA, FMEA and Control plans. Conduct internal product and process audits, raise associated non-conformances and support implementation of corrective and preventative actions. Support 3rd party and customer audits. Conduct investigations into Internal Scrap reasons and implement corrective, preventative actions and lead daily management of Quarantine Area. Maintain calibration of measuring equipment through both internal means and 3rd party services. Adherence to stock transaction process and support management of Supplier NCRs. To support in Customer NCRs, containment of stock, corrective and preventative actions. Lead problem solving activities. (5 Whys, Fishbone, Root Cause) to ensure robust corrective and preventative actions are in place. To support the Quality Department and all areas of the business in achieving agreed KPIs To attend relevant meetings and report on actions assigned, manage own workload and deadlines. Interface with Customers and Suppliers.The Person: Previous experience in a dedicated Quality Assurance / Control role, would be preferred, albeit applications are welcome from graduate engineering candidates with some industry experience, or candidates with manufacturing experience who have worked withina quality related role are looking to progress a career in quality assurance. An excellent work ethic and the desire to support continual improvement activities. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings with an understanding of applied tolerances. Good analytical skills, a methodical approach with good problem-solving skills. Experience of 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, Root Cause Analysis etc preferred but not essential. Experience of industry product approval processes would be highly desirable. Great attention to detail, and can work alone and as part of a team. Good communication skills, both verbally and through e-mail, microsoft teams etc. A competent level of I.T skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and familiar with using MRP/ ERP systems. Willing to travel (mainly UK and Europe).
