Job Description

We are delighted to be supporting our client, a North East based process innovation specialist, with their search for a Business Development Manager.The successful candidate must have a proven track record in MedTech business development with a strong understanding of medical device development. Building on this experience, the candidate will be expected to generate leads and secure contracts, as well as develop a deep understanding of clients’ needs and challenges.Key requirements for the role include:

  • Develop sustainable collaborative partnerships (companies, universities, innovation centres) to enable the effective delivery against technical and business development strategies.
  • Understanding of public funding and networks to enable efficient and proactive identification and prioritisation of project opportunities.
  • Prepare compelling project proposals/briefs/quotes; where appropriate managing external supporting resource.
  • Support the translation of the technical capability offering to clients.
  • Strong appreciation of the challenges in the development, optimisation and commercial scale-up of novel products and technologies for the manufacture of medical devices
  • Educated to degree level, ideally a MSc or PhD in Photonics or a MedTech related topic.
  • Applications will also be considered from physicists, engineers or life scientists who have already worked in a customer-facing role, and who are looking to take the next step in their career.
  • The succesful candidate will be required to be based in the North East, therefore if you are not already based in the region you must be prepared to relocate. Required skills
