Job Description

Jackson Hogg is delighted to be working with a leading charitable organisation on their appointment of a Payroll Specialist. The role will be on a 12-month fixed term contract.This is a great opportunity to join a fast growing organisation which is currently delivering on contracts of over £30 million per year. The candidate will be the pivotal lead in the provision of payroll services across the company, ensuring these servicesare delivered in line with the company values.Key Responsibilities:

  • Management of payroll assistant in both line and workload
  • Ensure policies are followed and adapted according to business or legislation
  • Verify new starters and leavers
  • Resolve queries relating to benefits, pensions, tax deductions
  • Ensure correct reporting and calculation of any amendments needed due to absence
  • Offer support to HR as main point of contact for pension queries
  • Review and submission of full payroll, ensuring any large underpayments or overpayments are dealt with within one month
  • Supporting the wider finance team
  • Collating P11D information for the organisation and submission of returns
  • Reporting; including staffing costs analysis, statutory external reporting (e.g. gender pay), expenses, etc
Requirements:
  • CIPP Course; or qualified by experience
  • Project Management Experience in system implementation
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Motivates self and others to remain calm under the pressure of strict deadlines
  • Ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability of information is always maintained
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Office
  • Good understanding of payroll package(s)
  • Good understanding of pension, statutory payments and HMRC legislation
