Job Description

Part time Payroll AdministratorSandy (with flexible hybrid working options) 12 - 15-month contract £28,000 pro rata Due to an internal project, the role of part-time Payroll Administrator has been created. Reporting to the Payroll Officer you will be responsible for supporting the payroll team in processing of the weekly and monthly payrolls.The role requires someone who is organised, resilient and fast passed with good payroll knowledge. The role is part time with flexibility around which hours and days are worked. There will also be the opportunity to work from both the office and at home.The role is a 12 - 15-month contract with an ASAP start date for the right person, there is a good opportunity for this role to become permanent.General Areas of Responsibility

  • Processing the full end to end payroll of both weekly and monthly payrolls, approx. 1300 employees in total
  • Managing employee records, starters, and leaver workflows
  • Dealing with Third Parties such as court orders, Unions and HMRC
  • Audits and payroll reporting
  • Reconciling pension and payroll month end journals
  • Statutory calculations
  • Administration of ad hoc documents
  • Assist with online payslip portal for employees
  • Answering payroll queries over the phone and in person
Experience, Knowledge, Qualifications
  • High level of accuracy and excellent attention to detail
  • Keep up to date on current changes and legislation
  • Plan and prioritise workload to ensure deadlines are fully met
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to daily priorities
  • Good communication skills
  • Must have good understanding of Auto Enrolment
  • Must have experience of computerised payroll system
  • Must have good spreadsheet skills including pivot tables
  • Friendly, diplomatic approach to payroll queries is essential
  • Knowledge of Data Protection regulations related to the payroll function is essential
