Practice Nurse / Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP)Greenfield Medical PracticeBirminghamThe closing date is 20 June 2021Job overviewAn exciting vacancy has arisen for a full time (5 days a week) or part time (3-4 days a week) practice nurse or ANP to join our friendly practice.The role is varied and covers all aspects of practice nursing.Main duties of the jobWe would ideally be looking for experience of working in a GP Practice/Primary Care, with qualifications in chronic disease management, cytology and immunisations.About usWe are a friendly practice with a list size of 2,700 registered patients .Our team comprises GPs, HCAs and a very supportive reception and admin team.We consider a work life balance is very important and offer a manageable workload. Job descriptionJob responsibilitiesPost Title: Practice Nurse / ANPReports to: Senior Partner Clinically and to the Practice Manager Non-clinicallyResponsible to: Practice ManagerJob SummaryTo be responsible for the delivery of practice nursing services, working as part of the practices multidisciplinary team who provide care within their scope of practice to the entitled patient population. The practice nurse will be responsible for severalclinical areas such as health promotion, chronic disease management, health prevention, well woman and well man clinics, as well as supporting the management team in the reviewing of clinical policy and procedure. They will work collaboratively with the practiceteam to meet the needs of patients and to support the delivery of practice goals. They will work within the NMC code of conduct and in line with the ethos of the practice.Main Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Works autonomously
  1. Proficiently carries out:
  • chronic disease management for diabetic care
  • chronic disease management for respiratory care
  • wound management including dressings, removal of sutures
  • child and adult immunisations
  • travel vaccinations
  • screening
  • health promotion
  • ear care
  • emergency management anaphylaxis and resuscitation techniques
  • child health / child protection
  • perform ECGs
  • venepuncture
  • requesting pathology testing
Other Tasks :Responsible for infection controlMaintaining nurses room, stocking and rotating items as requiredChaperoning and assisting patients who are being examined by other clinicians where requiredMaintain general cleanliness and tidiness of nurses roomOrdering of supplies as necessary
  • Effectively and appropriately communicates with the multi-disciplinary team regarding the care of individual patients
  • Attend and participate in clinical and practice meetings when required.
  • Proactive in identifying own needs for personal and professional development
  • Aware of the responsibility of all employees to maintain a safe and healthy environment for patients, visitors and staff
  • Ensures that all duties are carried out to the highest possible standard and in accordance with any current quality initiatives
  • To provide patient care in accordance with current PGDs and clinical protocols.
  • Any other duties as required from time to time.
