Job Description

The Union of Shop, Distributive and Allied Workers is one of the UK’s largest trade unions.A vacancy exists for a Senior DTP Operator/Artworker based at the Union’s Head Office.What we Offer:

The principal duties are: to provide a desktop publishing service to the Union, producing the bulk of the Union’s publications and campaign materials focussing on the more technically complex designs and brand development; to assist withthe day-to-day management of the independent Apple Mac network in the DepartmentThe successful applicant will possess: proficiency in the use of a range of software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat), Microsoft Office; knowledge of colour printing processes and procedures; experience of and comprehensiveknowledge of the Apple Mac system network, system management and operating system software; the ability to work without direct supervision and be able to handle several projects simultaneously to meet agreed deadlines; the ability to communicate effectivelywith a diverse range of people by telephone, in writing and face to face; the ability to demonstrate a methodical approach with close attention to detail.An application pack can be downloaded from here by clicking on the apply’ button.The closing date is noon on Monday, 20 November 2023.Interviews are expected to take place on Wednesday, 13 December 2023.CVs are not accepted.
