Job Description

Principal Mechanical Engineer Were looking for a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our Kier Professional Services team based in Manchester.Location: ManchesterBusiness Area: Transportation, Kier Professional Services (KPS)Contract: Full Time, PermanentResponsibilitiesAs a Principal Mechanical Engineer, youll be working within the Kier Professional Services (KPS) team, supporting them in withthe delivery of a broad range of Civil & Structural / MEICA related services in both Temporary and Permanent Works throughoutthe Kier business. You will alsocontribute to the delivery of more complex services byproviding solutions which are safe and buildable (in both their temporary and permanent states), above all other considerationYour day to day will include:

  • Managethe development of fee proposals, agreeing the technical requirements of the client remit, ensuring it is fully understood, questioning, and advising where necessary
  • Organise and Manage the day-to-day workload of engineers and technical staff within the design team, ensuring technical compliance of the design to the remit
  • Ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements and Company policies/procedures, including CDM Regulations, the Kier SHE Management System (SHEMS) and design Quality Management System (QMS)

  • Chartered member of a relevant professional institution (e.g., CEng MICE)
  • Several years of postgraduate experience
  • Valid CSCS card and full driving licence
