Job Description

Temporary KS3/4 Geography Teacher - SalfordWe are supporting a secondary school in Salford who are recruiting for a temporary teacher of Geography on a full time basis. The role will be for the whole of the upcoming academic from September, until they break for summer in July.This position is five days a week, and the successful teacher will teach Geography to key stage 3 & 4 classes of varying academic abilities. You will be asked to plan prepare and deliver, engaging lessons that will excite the students as well as enhancetheir academic abilities in the subject. You will be required to attend departmental meetings and parents evenings. You will also be required to mark the work you deliver, and provided regular feedback to students & help them to progress in the subject.The role is open to ECTs and fully qualified teachers, however, the school will be unable to support an ECT through a term of your induction.CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Degree educated with a good classification
  • Secondary QTS (PGCE, SCITT, B.Ed, QTS, etc) in Geography
  • Previous experience teaching History to young people (which we can reference)
  • Experience of teaching in a UK Secondary School (which we can reference)
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, however, training can be provided)
  • Up to date prevent awareness training issued in the last 3 years (essential, however, training can be provided)
  • Recent behaviour management and FGM training (desirable)
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced DBS certificate that is on the update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide at least two professional child related references to cover the last two years
